Raw Green New Deal

Los Angeles’ Green New Deal would eliminate thousands of jobs and raise power rates for millions of hard-working Angelenos. IBEW Local 18 strongly supports legislation and policies that reduce the City’s reliance on fossil fuels, but these policies must take into consideration protecting middle-class jobs and everyday working people.

IBEW Local 18 has been at the forefront of building a clean energy future:

The women and men of the IBEW Local 18 are leading advocates of electrification and renewables;

IBEW Local 18, in partnership with LADWP, is leading by investing in local job training and hiring for energy-efficiency projects through the Utility Pre-Craft Trainee (UPCT) program; and

IBEW Local 18 and its members are fighting every day to clean up the City’s water supply and create local power generation.
